Brian Hageman

Brian Douglas Hageman, 70, of Shipman, Illinois, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Born on July 14, 1955, in Muscatine, Iowa, Brian was the son of the late Rev. Everett and Irene (Thompson) Hageman. He married Lisa Ericson, who preceded him in death in 2019.

Brian spent his career as an accountant for the Washington State Office of Financial Management before retiring to the peaceful surroundings of Lake Catatoga in Shipman, where he found great joy in the quiet beauty of nature.

Brian was a kind man with a gentle spirit. He loved being outdoors, working the soil, and watching things grow. His loyalty to his family and to those he loved was unwavering, and he formed deep, lasting friendships—especially with his best friend, Tony (Robin) Crowe, and his many friends at Lake Catatoga.

He is survived by his five siblings: Cheryl (Vincent) Resh of California; Kae Stender of Minnesota; Everett (Margaret) Hageman of Minnesota; Kim (Linda) Hageman of Minnesota; and Janel Ransdell of Illinois. He is also lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lisa.

Cremation rites have been accorded and entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at 11 am on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shipman.
