Brenda Carol Slusher (nee Patterson), 76, of O’Fallon, IL, born on July 15, 1949, in Jellico, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
Brenda had a very long varied career which included traveling overseas with her husband and son. During her 8 years abroad, she dedicated 5 years to working as an optometrist before moving to O’Fallon, IL in 1992.
Brenda liked to travel, meet new people, and attend various events. She was a genuinely kind and caring person who put others first. Her kindness and quiet strength will be deeply missed.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearlie Patterson (nee Moore); and her beloved husband, John M. Slusher.
Left to cherish Brenda’s memory is her son, Eric Rue of O’Fallon, IL.
