Brandy L. Maggart-Cunningham, 32, of Alton, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 16, 1992 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Timothy S. (Mary Peterson) Maggart of Dow, and Alice G. (Mark) King-Carter of Glen Carbon. She married Alex S.P. Cunningham in Edwardsville on April 13, 2018. He survives.

Brandy worked at Heartland Veterinary Hospital in Edwardsville as a technician and receptionist. She is a former member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton. Brandy enjoyed running in 5Ks, hiking, animals of all kinds, healing crystals, and spending time with friends and family, especially her son, Emmett.

Along with her parents, and husband, Alex, she is survived by a son, Emmett Cunningham of Alton; siblings, Amy Maggart of Godfrey, Bill (Becca) Maggart of Glen Carbon, Hannah (Kaleb) Klette of Edwardsville, Christopher (Beth) Gallina of Camden, North Carolina, Matthew (Erica) Gallina of Ozark, Missouri, Dallas Carter of Indianapolis, Indiana, Logan Carter of Glen Carbon, Alicia (Josh) Carney of Bethalto, and Kristin Brunstein of East Alton; her maternal grandparents, Larry and Marilyn King of Godfrey; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Stacy Barrett of Granite City; a brother-in-law, Corey (Ciara) Cunningham of Granite City; paternal grandmother-in-law, Sharon Scanlan of Godfrey; paternal grandfather-in-law, Vernon Cunningham of Alton; bonus mother and father, Marissa and Mark Bailey of Roxana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brandy was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Carol Maggart; step-father, Paul Gallina; step-grandfather, Louis Gallina; and a sister, Janessa Williamson-Bailey.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 1 to 4 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where funeral services will also be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 1 pm. Pastor Daniel Ervin will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials are suggested to an education fund for her son, Emmett and/or Hope Animal Rescues in Godfrey.
