Betty Clark

Betty Beatrice Clark, 83, passed away at 10:55 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Villas of Hollybrook in Jerseyville.

She was born on October 28, 1942, in Elsah and was one of five children born to the late Harold A. and Pauline (Jenkins) Bryant. Betty spent her entire life in the Elsah area, a community she dearly loved and proudly called home. She dedicated many years of service to the Elsah Post Office, ultimately retiring as Postmaster after a long and respected career.

From her first marriage, Betty was blessed with three children who remained the center of her life. She later married Donald Clark on October 25, 1981, in Elsah. Together they shared 32 years of marriage and many cherished memories before his death on May 29, 2014.

Betty found joy in the simple things that made a house a home. An accomplished quilter, she lovingly crafted countless quilts through the years, many of which remain treasured keepsakes among family and friends. She enjoyed tending to her yard, spending time outdoors, and taking pride in her home. Above all, Betty loved bringing her family together. Whether for holidays, special occasions, or an ordinary Sunday afternoon, she cherished the laughter, stories, and memories created around her table.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Deborah and Bill Klunk of Jerseyville, Barry and Susan Croxford of Grafton, and Steven and Judy Croxford of Jerseyville; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Paulette and William Robeen of Jerseyville; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Judy Bryant of Dow; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janet (Larry) Laubscher; and a brother, Thomas (Lois) Bryant.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2026, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Burial will follow at Elsah Cemetery.
