Arlene P. Tadlock, age 89, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Carlyle Healthcare & Senior Living in Carlyle, IL. Arlene was born on December 9, 1934, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Arthur J. Broche Jr. and Margaret E. (Boyd) Broche.
On April 2, 1953, Arlene Broche married James F. “Tad” Tadlock, the love of her life and Tad passed away on April 20, 1997. Arlene was a faithful member of Johnson Road General Baptist Church in Granite City, IL. She was also a member of Eastern Star and Granite City Moose Lodge. Arlene retired as a bus driver from Harman & Sons in 1977 after sixteen years of dedicated service. Arlene loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and dear friend to many.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Bustos; brother, Thomas Broche; two grandsons and by one granddaughter.
She is survived by her loving children, James (Cindy) Tadlock Jr., of Osage Beach, MO, Gary (Joyce) Tadlock Sr., of Granite City, IL, Cindy (Matt) Brown Kolb of Carlyle, IL, and Rhonda (John) Frolander of Vista, CA; proud grandmother to 22 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL.
In celebration of her life, a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL, with Pastor Randy Vollmar and Pastor Larry Blankley officiating. Arlene will be laid to rest next to Tad at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City, IL.
Memorial donations may be given to Make-A-Wish Foundation. Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
