Rev. Anne Bukalski, 79, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Keystone Place at Magnolia Commons in Glen Carbon.
She was born Feb. 28, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA.
A minister, Rev. Anne had previously worked as a chaplain for Alton Memorial Hospital, in the Religious Center at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and the Edwardsville Intelligencer. She loved to read, and enjoyed spending quality time with her family.
She married Dr. Peter J. Bukalski, PhD on Sept. 25, 1971. In addition to her husband of nearly 55 years, she is survived by two sons, Brendan Bukalski, JD of Bloomington, IL and Dr. Julian Bukalski, PhD of Honolulu, HI.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her extended Gardner family in Utah.
Memorial visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Paynic Home for Funerals. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to First Christian Church, 760 Washington Ave., Alton, IL 62002.
