Anita Marie Strack, 89, died at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Cedar Creek of Godfrey.
Born December 1, 1934 in Batchtown, IL, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Dora (Eilerman) Schmidt. She retired as the office manager for Snyder’s Department Store. In 1963 she married Donald Strack in Wood River. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, Margaret Schmidt of Alton, Larry Schmidt (Anna) of Godfrey, Dr. Kenneth Schmidt (Diane) of Chatham, IL, and Dennis Schmidt of Williamstown, KY.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Florence Schmidt and Irving and Emma Jean Schmidt.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church in Alton. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
