KANE-  Aaron Lynn Hayes, 62, died suddenly at 6:03 p.m., Friday, September 4,2015 in the emergency room atPassavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.He was born in Grafton on Feb. 28, 1953, and was one of seven children born to the late William DH "Bus" and Muriel (Britt) Hayes Sr.Aaron grew up in Grafton, and graduated in 1971 from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville. He entered the US Navy the day after graduation serving with the Medical Corp.  Upon completion of his military service he worked in several different occupations.  After attending Barclay College in St. Ann, Mo., he worked for Allied Security for eleven years until accepting a position at Pere Marquette State Park in November of 2000.  In 2004, he began working at American Steel in Granite City, retiring in 2008 due to declining health.Aaron married Sandra (Abbott) Stout on April 4, 1986 in St. Charles, Mo.  They were happily married for 29 years and shared five children from their previous marriages.  Aaron loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed fishing and golfing.Surviving are his wife, Sandra Hayes of Kane; his daughters and sons in law,, Tammy & Brad Potter ofShepardsville, IN., Jacqueline & Scott McAdams of Lancaster, Ky., Dawn & Nathan Gansz of Piasa,  and Carrie & Tim Whitehead of Kempner, Tx.; a son and daughter in law, Aaron Lynn and Betty Hayes II of Alton; 22 grandchildren; one great grandson; four sisters, Tabitha Marshall of Grafton, Sue Hayes of Grafton, ElaineMoyer of Oregon, and Jean Hayes of Grafton; along with three brothers and sisters in law, Steven Abbott of Kane, Jeffery and Carol Abbott and Bruce & Jamie Abbott all of Jerseyville.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William "David" Hayes and Jonathon Hayes; five grandchildren born to the Lord, including Jordan Lea and Jamie Jean Potter; his mother in law, Loretta (Wilkinson) Abbott; his father in law, Alonzo "Jack" Abbott; and a nephew, William "Davie" Hayes III.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday.  Rev. Michael Mohr will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.In lieu of any flowers and plants, the family request memorial donations be made to his home church, Southwestern Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Fidelity or to the Disabled American Veterans.
