Titled “Business Builder Series: Presenting, Networking and Leading with Impact Workshop,” The event is planned for 8:30–10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Tri-Township Public Library. Community members are invited to learn from six subject experts in an interactive workshop that is designed to boost professional skills.

“We’re offering our members educational opportunities,” said Dawn Mushill, the chamber’s executive director. “We’re very active, very busy, but we’re always looking for ideas of what chamber members are looking for.”

Andrew Ambrose and Lisa Phillipson will talk about presenting to clients, leadership or large audiences. Tracy Bianco and Wendy Symer will discuss networking with confidence and making meaningful connections. Jeff Koziatek and Dallas Amsden will take on facilitating team growth and effective meetings.

Attendees can choose two of these tracks. They will sit in on two 30-minute presentations from the speakers, followed by a 30-minute panel with all six speakers.

Mushill shared that a chamber member recently came to her and said she was “deathly scared” of public speaking. This conversation inspired the chamber to consider other fears, including networking and running meetings, and establish the workshop. That chamber member was the first person to sign up.

Investors can send as many attendees as they want for free. Members pay $25 per company and can bring as many team members as they want. Non-members are charged $25 per person. Spots are limited, and people are encouraged to register today.

Mushill emphasized that everyone is invited to attend and to join the Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce. They’ve welcomed 41 new members so far this year and have 22 events scheduled for May, including the workshop. Mushill encourages more people to join and to see what the chamber can offer them.

“It’s exploding, and we love it. We have a very small staff, and we have some outstanding board members and ambassadors who are a huge help. We are just excited to be part of all communities,” she added. “Within our four communities, 48% [of members] are inside our communities and 52% are outside. We encourage people to be in the chamber that your business is located in, but also to explore other chambers. Every chamber is different, and we all offer something that someone loves.”

The workshop is an example of this, with a great lineup and plenty to learn. The event will serve as an introduction to these professional skills or a refresher if you’ve “been around the block,” Mushill said.
