Brewer scored 12 points in a 58-39 win over Metro-East Lutheran at Granite City Memorial Gym on Dec. 4, and is currently the team's leading scorer, averaging 17.3 points-per-game. He's also averaging 9.3 rebounds-per-game, and also has nine assists and eight steals in the Warriors first games. Last season, on a team that finished 9-23, he averaged 15.4 points-per-game to lead the Warriors, also averaging 9.4 rebounds-per-game, going along with 29 assists and 38 steals, and was one of Granite's most dependable players.

Evan is a Stillwater Senior Living Male Athlete of the Month for the Warriors.

In a postgame interview conducted after the win over the Knights, Brewer felt that after a slow start, Granite found its rhythm and was able to play well.

"We've just got to lock in on defense," Brewer said. "We have our perimeter shooters; that's what helps us a lot. We finally got our shot back this year."

The Warriors went on a 13-2 run at the start of the third quarter, and that, as much as anything, spelled the difference in the game.

"In the first half, our defense wasn't all there," Brewer said. "As soon as we started getting steals, because we came out of the half ready, mad, and that's when we started getting steals, and getting wide-open breaks. That's what got us the energy to keep going."

The Warriors are in a good position to become one of the area's most improved teams in 2025-26, and Brewer is optimistic about those hopes.

"Hopefully, we will get 20 wins," Brewer said. "We want 20 wins, that's all we want. We want to beat good teams and have a good season overall."

He also has his own goals and ambitions for himself, but places the team first.

"Well, I want to try to average at least a double-double," Brewer said. "I think that would be pretty solid. But I'm not really focused on myself. It's my senior year, and all, but I want us all to succeed. I hope we have the best season we can."
