GRANITE CITY 68, CAHOKIA 52: In the opening game of the Jersey Mid-Winter Classic at Havens Gym, Granite's Evan Brewer led the Warriors with 26 points and in the fourth quarter, eclipsed the 1,000-point career milestone in helping Granite win its fifth game in a row, taking the win over Cahokia.
C'Narri Griffin led the Comanches with 16 points, while Corrion Raiford added 12 points.
The Warriors are now 13-7, while Cahokia goes to 7-10.
MARQUETTE CATHOLIC 63, GREENVILLE 35
Chase Jones led Marquette Catholic with 21 points in a 63-35 win in the Litchfield Tourney.
Robinson had 14 points, Golike 10 points and Jack Rea 8 points for the Explorers. C. Smalley led Greenville with 16 points.

TRIAD 56, FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 36: In the opening game of the group stage at the Litchfield Rick McGraw Memorial tournament, Triad led throughout in taking the win over McGivney.
Chase Jansen led the Griffins with 12 points, while Carson Barone had 10 points.
The Knights are now 14-5, while McGivney goes to 12-9.
CARLINVILLE 58, GILLESPIE 25
At the Macoupin County Boys Tournament at Virden, Carlinville clipped Gillespie 58-25.
Carlinville is now 11-7, while Gillespie is 0-19.
Triston Thompson had 20 points, 7 steals, and 4 assists to lead the Cavaliers, while teammate Tate Duckels had 14 points. Sawyer Smith had 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Auggie Rowe posted 4 assists.
Brayden Enlow led Gillespie with 13 points.
In other games played on the Holiday Monday, at Litchfield, Roxana defeated Pana 63-59, In a regular season game, Springfield Lanphier got past Alton 52-50, in a shootout at Nashville, Breese Mater Dei Catholic took a 53-50 win over Marion, in another game at Litchfield, Marquette Catholic won over Greenville 63-35, Trenton Wesclin defeated Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 67-33, In a MLK Day showcase at St. Louis Cardinal Ritter College Prep, East St. Louis defeated the host Lions 64-57, in the Jersey Mid-Winter Classic, Jacksonville won over the host Panthers 64-50, Carlinville won on the road over Gillespie 58-25, and in a result from Friday night, Mascoutah defeated Highland 66-49.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
RED BUD 48, EAST ALTON-WOOD RIVER 31: EAWR held a 4-3 lead after the first quarter, but Red Bud blew the game open after that, outscoring the Oilers the rest of the way 45-27 to take the win at Red Bud's gym.
Kaylynn Buttry was once again EAWR's leading scorer, hitting for 16 points, while Ryann Adams chipped in nine points with three three-point scores. Averi Gilliam dropped in six points.
The Musketeers are now 8-14, while the Oilers go to 5-18.
In the 39th Highland Invitational tournament, the host Bulldogs won over Belleville Althoff Catholic 56-27, in the Vandalia tournament, Mascoutah fell to Hillsboro 44-31, and Carrollton won over White Hall North Greene 61-27.

FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 50, VALMEYER 29: McGivney led at halftime 28-13, and went on to a win over Valmeyer at the Griffins Lair.
Owen Kolesa led the way for the Griffins with 25 points, while Will Rakers came up with 11 points.
McGivney is now 12-8, while the Pirates slip to 4-9.
COLUMBIA 71, CAHOKIA 49: Columbia led at the half 35-28, and went on to take a win over visiting Cahokia.
Eddie Smajic led the Eagles with 25 points, while Brody Landgraf added 24 points. The Comanches were led by Corrion Raiford, who had 11 points, while Taven Miller scored 10 points.
Columbia goes to 14-4, while Cahokia is now 7-9.
BELLEVILLE WEST 56, MT. VERNON 26: In the Southern Illinois Shootout, West had little trouble in seeing off Mt. Vernon.
J'Dyn Lloyd had a big game for the Maroons with 29 points, while Micah May had 11 points. and T.J. Cason IV hit for 10 points.
West is now 11-6. while the Rams go to 13-3.
CENTRALIA 59, COLLINSVILLE 49: Centralia led at halftime 27-21, then went on to the win at Vergil Fletcher Gym.
Jace Wilkinson was the top scorer for the Kahoks with 18 points, while DeAndre Brown hit for 12 points.
The Orphans are now 16-1, while Collinsville goes to 7-13.
EAST ST. LOUIS 75. OKLAHOMA CITY FREDERICK DOUGLASS 67: In the co-feature game of the Southern Illinois Shootout at Althoff, East St. Louis took a big win over Frederick Douglass of Oklahoma City.
Terri'yon Webster led the Flyers with 14 points, while Jamison White and Alex Johnson both scored 11 points, and both O. Houston and Philip Jones had 10 points apiece.
East Side is now 17-2, while the Trojans go to 7-4.
In other games played on Saturday, at the Southern Illinois Classic Shootout at Belleville Althoff Catholic, Granite City won its fourth game in a row, winning over old rival Madison 71-37, Edwardsville defeated the host Crusaders 56-44, Alton upended Mary Institute-Country Day of Ladue, Mo. 61-41, Freeburg won at Red Bud 53-31, Hardin Calhoun defeated Mt. Sterling Brown County 66-59, and Concord Triopia won over Greenfield Northwestern 66-46.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
BELLEVILLE ALTHOFF CATHOLIC 54, ST. LOUIS LUTHERAN NORTH 49: In the first of two games on the day for Althoff, they led 27-24 at the half, and went on to hold off Lutheran North in the first game of the Southern Illinois Shootout.
Gabby Dalke led Althoff with 24 points, while Reece Distler added 14 points.
Lutheran North is now 4-9.
NASHVILLE 63, BELLEVILLE ALTHOFF CATHOLIC 17: In a first-round game of the 39th Highland Invitational Tournament, Nashville led Althoff at the half 44-8, and went on to win in the Crusaders' second game of the day.
Dalke led the Crusaders with nine points, while both Catherine Gross and Tessa Wuller both hit for three points each.
The Hornets are now 20-2, while Althoff is now 7-11.
TEUTOPOLIS 59, HIGHLAND 36: Also in the first round of the Highland tournament, Teutopolis led from the outset and took the win over the host Bulldogs.
Jordan Bircher led Highland with nine points, while both Ari Nanney and Sophie Schroeder added six points each.
The Wooden Shoes are now 16-2, while the Bulldogs are now 12-10.
O'FALLON 59, TRIAD 31: In the final first-round game of the Highland Invitational, O'Fallon led Triad at the interval 37-21, and went on to win to advance.
Josie Christopher led the Panthers with 19 points, while Quinn Zerjal had 15 points.
O'Fallon is now 13-5. while the Knights go to 14-7.
ROXANA 34, PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 32: Roxana led Southwestern 19-18, and took the narrow win at Southwestern's gym.
Daisy Daugherty led the Shells with 22 points, while Kylee Slayden had four points.
Roxana is now 10-11, while the Piasa Birds fall to 11-11.
In the rest of the first round games in the Highland Invitational, Chatham Glenwood defeated Okawville 53-29. St. Louis Lift For Life Academy won over Edwardsville 60-41, Belleville East won over Centralia 50-26. Breese Mater Dei Catholic edged Civic Memorial 59-57, and Breese Central defeated Carlyle 66-24.
In other games played on Saturday, Pinckneyville defeated Marissa-Coulterville 60-33. and Red Bud won over Freeburg 71-31.
