BOYS BASKETBALL
COLLINSVILLE 56, TRENTON WESCLIN 36: Collinsville jumped out to a 22-7 first-quarter lead and went on from there to take the win over Wesclin at Vergil Fletcher Gym.
Camauri Mayes led the Kahoks with 16 points, while Jordan Taylor hit for 13 points, and DeAndre Brown scored 12 points.
Collinsville is now 3-2, while the Warriors slip to 4-1.
MURRAY, KY. CALLOWAY COUNTY 70, TRIAD 54: Homestanding Calloway County jumped to a lead and held it the entire game in defeating Triad.
Tyler Thompson was the top scorer for the Knights with 17 points, while Mac Musgrave added 12 points, and Lucas Thompson came up with 10 points.
The Lakers are now 2-0, while Triad goes to 3-2.
In other games played on Saturday, Maryville Christian won over East Alton-Wood River 49-27, in the Mt. Vernon Shootout, Breese Central won over Gateway Legacy Christian of Florissant, Mo. 61-37, also at Mt. Vernon, DeSmet Jesuit of Creve Couer, Mo. defeated Belleville West 83-51. Carlyle nipped Okawville 46-45, Waterloo Gibault Catholic got past Steeleville 69-65, Marion won over Freeburg 78-57, Mt. Vernon defeated Alton 64-49, Breese Mater Dei Catholic squeaked past Marquette Catholic 47-43 and in a result from Friday, Carrollton won over Gillespie 52-17.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
MARION 55, TRIAD 49: Marion pulled out a win over visiting Triad in a game at Marion's gym.
Erica Boyce led the Knights with 15 points, while Kenzie Becker added 14 points.
The Wildcats are now 6-0, while Triad goes to 5-2.
COLUMBIA 60, MASCOUTAH 58 (OT): In a close game throughout, Columbia and Mascoutah emerged from regulation tied 53-53, but the Eagles outscored the Indians 7-5 in extra time to come out on top at Mascoutah's gym.
Ava Mathews led Columbia with 19 points, while Riley Bahr came up with 16 points, and Addison Dewilde added 10 points.
The Eagles are now 4-2, while Mascoutah goes to 3-2.
BELLEVILLE EAST 54, PEORIA NOTRE DAME CATHOLIC 34; In another game at the SWIC Shootout, East dominated from start to finish to defeat PND.
Demaya Bartelheim led the Lancers with 15 points, while Hailey Gray added 13 points.
East is now 5-0, while the Irish go to 6-1.
QUINCY NOTRE DAME CATHOLIC 59, HIGHLAND 35: QND led all the way through in taking a home win over Highland.
Jordan Bircher led the Bulldogs with 18 points, while Linden Klucker and Chloe Lindsay both scored four points each.
The Raiders are now 5-0, while Highland goes to 4-4.
In other games played on Saturday, at the SWIC Shootout in Belleville, Freeburg won over Jersey 65-22, Red Bud defeated Steeleville 49-34, also at the SWIC Shootout, Okawville upset Carrollton 46-28. Maryville Christian won over East Alton-Wood River 42-15, Alton won over Whitfield of west St. Louis County 62-19 at SWIC, St. Louis Cardinal Ritter College Prep won in the SWIC Shootout over O'Fallon 54-40, Civic Memorial took a 49-39 win over Edwardsville in the SWIC Shootout, and in a result from Friday, Carrollton won over Greenfield Northwestern 60-20.
