EDWARDSVILLE — An overtime finish, energetic cheerleaders, and a Unified basketball exhibition at halftime helped make the Edwardsville-Staunton High boys basketball game a memorable night for Edwardsville High School fans.

Edwardsville High School defeated Staunton 48-43 in overtime in Edwardsville. The game featured energetic support by EHS and Staunton cheerleaders, as well as music from the EHS pep band during the contest. A Unified basketball exhibition was held at halftime.

EHS Athletic Director Amy Boscolo said the event delivered a full experience for fans.

“The game did offer about everything a fan could enjoy,” Boscolo said, adding that the Unified exhibition added even more to the night.

The combination of the close game, halftime exhibition, and crowd entertainment contributed to what was described as one of the most memorable events of the season for EHS basketball fans.
