O'FALLON, IL. - O’Fallon High School’s Kira Thompson made history for the Panthers at the IHSA State Tournament this past weekend.

Thompson finished fourth at 170 pounds after losing her final match by fall at 2:46 to Anali Wilson of Berwyn-Cicero J. Sterling Morton.

O’Fallon Athletics was extremely proud of her effort and highlighted Thompson’s result with a very positive statement: “History made today for OTHS Girls Wrestling! Kira Thompson is the First-Ever State Medalist!! She finished in fourth place at the IHSA State Tournament!! A huge congrats!!”

Thompson was O’Fallon’s lone representative in the tournament.
