JERSEY - Jersey Community Middle School girls volleyball hosted Carrollton on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, in their first home opener of the season, delivering strong performances across both the seventh- and eighth-grade teams.

The seventh-grade squad secured a straight-set victory, winning 25–18 and 25–17. Kaleigh Strohbeck played a key role in closing out the match with an eight-point serving run in the second set.

The eighth-grade team faced a tougher challenge, ultimately prevailing in three sets. The Jersey girls took the first set decisively at 25–14, dropped the second set 22–25, and rebounded to dominate the third set 25–9.

Addi Fessler contributed significantly with a 10-point serving streak during the opening set for JCMS.

Meanwhile, Jersey Community High School hosted Metro-East Lutheran for boys basketball action.

The junior varsity team won convincingly, 60–30, while the varsity Panthers secured a 50–44 victory.
