BETHALTO - Grady Farrell's last-second shot from half court pushed Civic Memorial boys to a 58-56 overtime win over Highland on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at CM.

Farrell, a 6-foot-1 junior, made the heroic basket at the buzzer to cap CM's win to push the team to 5-5 overall on the season.

CM head boys coach Lee Green and Farrell were both "ecstatic" about the game-winner.

"The whole team and crowd went crazy after he made the shot," Green said.

Charlie Kilpatrick led CM in scoring with 17 points, and Riley Lamb added 13 points.

Coach Green said he felt the Eagles' offense was flowing throughout the game against Highland.

CM returns to play at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, in the Columbia-Freeburg Tourney against Columbia.

Highland Girls 51, Civic Memorial 46

Highland defeated Civic Memorial's girls in the second game of the night at Civic Memorial on Monday, 51-46.

CM was ahead 17-15 at the half, but Highland rallied for the win in the second half.

Highland improves to 9-6, and CM falls to 8-3 with the loss.
