“Edwardsville is a good team, a solid team,” said EAWR coach James Mitchell. “They’ve got a lot of experience on that side of the ice, but we’re a team that’s still developing, internally developed.
"We’re working on going forward. Our biggest downfall right now is that we’re working with two lines, and we’re gassed, our entire team, but we’re finding our way, and we’re going to find a way, and keep digging deep, pushing ourselves, and just grow and develop.”
The team is definitely going through the growing pains as of now, but eventually, all of the hard work will pay off in the end for EAWR.
“We’ve got a good team here that’s ready to put the hard work and effort in,” Mitchell said, “and if we keep doing that, and keep pushing ourselves, and pushing our limits, good things will come. I’m proud of this team.”
The Oilers kept plugging away and never gave up the entire game, and deserve many kudos for not surrendering, and kept playing hard to the final buzzer.
“Oh, absolutely,” Mitchell said. “They’re definitely not going to back down at all. They’re going to give it everything they’ve got. We have to put up a fight, and we’re not going to back down easily.”
Mitchell is indeed confident of the future of EAWR hockey, and feels it’s a good one, indeed.
“Oh, 100 percent,” Mitchell said. “I think we’ll grow. We’re still trying to get some players built within the school district. We’re going to do what we can to keep this club growing.”
