ROXANA — The Civic Memorial Eagles fell to Carbondale 63-55 on Friday at the Roxana Hoopsgiving Tournament in a tightly contested game.

Civic Memorial took an early lead, finishing the first quarter ahead 15-10 and maintaining a 35-27 advantage at halftime.
However, Carbondale rallied in the third quarter to take the lead, entering the final period ahead 49-41. Both teams scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, but Carbondale held on for the victory.
Lukus Zangori led Civic Memorial with 20 points, while Riley Lamb added 13.
Carbondale’s Jaxon Marlow-Evans scored a game-high 30 points, and Jonathan Jackson contributed 10.
Civic Memorial is scheduled to face Granite City on Saturday for seventh place in the tournament.
