COLLINSVILLE - Collinsville's Ashley Janini started the season off with a big game, collecting 15 points in a dominant 47-14 Kahoks girls basketball win over Cahokia on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at Vergil Fletcher Gymnasium.

The Kahoks junior varsity squad secured a 51-10 win.

Janini had a 3-for-4 performance at the free-throw line. Collinsville built a commanding 42-3 lead by halftime, prompting a running clock for the remainder of the game.

After resting most of their starters early in the third quarter, the Lady Kahoks allowed Cahokia to outscore them 6-5 in that period, but the lead remained insurmountable. Collinsville outrebounded Cahokia 26-10 in the game.

On the junior varsity side, Collinsville held a 22-10 lead at halftime and shut out Cahokia in the second half to secure the 51-10 victory. Sophomore Jayla Wysinger led the JV team with 10 points.

The JV game ended under the running clock mercy rule in the final quarter.

Following these season-opening wins at home, the Collinsville varsity team will travel to Nashville on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2025, to participate in the annual Nashville Thanksgiving Tournament. The Kahoks' first game is scheduled against Mt. Vernon at 6 p.m.
