Altonized Community Federal Credit Union Female Athlete Of The Month: Piasa Birds’ Middle Hitter Adelyn Williamson Steps Up

PIASA - Adelyn Williamson’s role at the net helped Southwestern put together a 16-win season in girls volleyball in 2025, and her coach expects an even bigger impact ahead.

She is an Altonized Community Federal Union Female Athlete of the Month for the Piasa Birds.

Williamson, a junior middle hitter for the Piasa Birds, was cited by Southwestern coach Derek Dempsey as a key part of the team’s success during the 2025 season. Coach Dempsey said Williamson remained “a very important player on the team” and continued to improve as a hitter.

“She is a great blocker and has excellent leaping ability,” he said. “I look for her to have a big impact in her senior year.”

Southwestern finished the 2025 girls volleyball season with 16 wins under Dempsey.
