GLEN CARBON — Althoff Catholic defeated Father McGivney 56-29 Tuesday night in a conference basketball game at Father McGivney’s home court.

Althoff established an early advantage, leading 13-4 after the first quarter. The team extended its lead in the second quarter, holding the Griffins to seven points and entering halftime ahead 31-11.

In the third quarter, Althoff increased its lead to 46-21. The final quarter saw Althoff outscore Father McGivney 10-8, securing the victory.

Luke Smith led Althoff with 26 points, and it was a career high game for him, while Kyle Johnson added 16.

Father McGivney’s top scorers were Brendan Kayser with seven points and Owen Kolesa with six.
