Sprague described Davenport as a “gold standard of student athletes” and pointed to both her academic and athletic accomplishments.
“She was the school's Scholar Athlete of the Year with a 4.8 grade point average on a 4.0 scale,” he said. “She holds our sprint school records for indoor and outdoor track and field.
Karly is a Tucker's Automotive Repair & Tire Female Athlete of the Month.
“She was the anchor leg of the 4 x 100 school record team. She led by example in practice, and when she is done, she stays around to work with some of our St. Ambrose Middle School athletes," Coach Sprague said.
“Karly is one of the most dominant female athletes I have ever seen. She can do everything on the track at such a high level. We are really going to miss her next season.”
Davenport posted a season-best time of 13.14 in the 100 meters at the Roxana COED Open on April 7, 2026. She later finished 13th in the sectional at Springfield Southeast in 13.23. In the 200 meters, Davenport won the Madison County Small School Meet with a time of 27.24.
She also competed as a member of the Explorers’ 4x100 relay team and in the triple jump. Davenport recorded a jump of 33 feet, 6.75 inches at the All-Catholic Invite on April 11 and won the triple jump at the Gateway Metro Track and Field Championships with a mark of 32-9.5.
Davenport was a member of the 4 x 100 relay that advanced to the state track and field meet in 2025.
