COTTAGE HILLS — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a death investigation as of about 11:08 a.m. Sunday, June 21, 2026, after an adult female was found deceased in a creek area near the 1100 block of Lee Street in Cottage Hills, authorities said.

The woman has been tentatively identified, according to the sheriff’s office.

Based on preliminary information, “there does not appear to be a threat to the public,” the sheriff’s office said.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office detectives and the Madison County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office said it will release pertinent information as it develops.
