ALTON - Reid Murray had two hits and three RBIs, while both Dagen Cordes, and Ryan Lowis each had two hits and two RBIs, and Hayden LaPlant struck out three in his debut for Alton Post 126's senior American Legion baseball team in a 10-4 win over Manchester, Mo. Post 208 Saturday afternoon at Lloyd Hopkins Field in Gordon Moore Park.

The Legionnaires have now won six of their last seven games, and are now 7-3 overall for the young summer season.
Alton got on the board with five runs in the first, then added two more in the third, and one run in the fourth to take an 8-0 lead, before Manchester scored four times in the top of the fifth to halve the lead at 8-4. Post 126 then countered with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the 10-4 win in five-and-a-half innings, with Manchester failing to score in the top of the sixth, terminating the game.
Cordes led the way with two hits and three RBIs, while both Lowis and Murray had two hits and two RBIs, Abe Kribs came up with two hits and an RBI, Jayce Steinkuehlerr had two hits, Carter Watson had a hit and an RBI, and both Hayden Scheoers and Nolan Bowsher had a hit each.
LaPlant started on the mound and went 3.2 innings to be credited with the win, allowing no runs on four hits, walking three and striking out three. Lowis pitched for one inning, giving up no runs on one hit, walking none and striking out one, and Watson pitched the final 1.1 innings, giving up four unearned runs on one hit, walking three and fanning one.
The Legionnaires host Aviston Post 1239 on Wednesday at 7 p.m., then play against the Christian County Post 257 Guardians on Friday in a tournament hosted by Trenton Post 778 at Trenton City Park at 5 p.m. The tournament continues on Saturday and Sunday, June 20-21.
