A resolution for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to close State Highway 67 for the Jersey County Fair Parade was unanimously approved by City Council members at their June 9, 2026 meeting.
Mayor Kevin Stork said the closure will be in effect on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 5 to 9 p.m., and that the parade will be held “weather permitting.” The parade itself is set to start at 6 p.m. the same day.
The mayor also announced two upcoming city-hosted events for July 4, 2026, including the latest “Rock the Block” concert and this year’s fireworks display.
Stork said the city’s July 4 “Rock the Block” concert will feature local artist Mattie Schell. The performance will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the parking lot at Washington and Arch Streets, “under the water tower.”
Jerseyville’s 2026 Fireworks Display is also set for July 4, starting at dusk at the American Legion Fairgrounds.
