Halleman, a senior, said she has played every position on the field, including her primary position this season, goalkeeper. She said she was granted the captain’s role during both her junior and senior years, accomplishments she cited as key reasons for the recognition.

“I have played every position on the field, including my primary position this season, goalkeeper,” Halleman said. “And I have been granted the captaincy during my junior and senior years.”

Halleman said she has been playing soccer in recreational leagues since elementary school. What she values most about the sport, she said, is its strategic nature and the way players can grow through it.

“Over the years, what I love most is the strategy of the game and every player’s ability to improve and find passion in soccer as well,” she said.

She credited soccer with helping shape her development during high school, saying it strengthened her sense of responsibility, confidence, and communication.

“Soccer has helped me develop a high level of responsibility and grow my confidence in connecting with other students my age,” Halleman said. “I have noticeably become better at overall communication along with self-advocacy.”

Halleman also shared appreciation for the people who have supported her.

“I would like to thank my dad, David Halleman, and stepmom, Kevia Halleman, for giving me the resources I’ve needed to accomplish my goals and all the encouragement,” she said. “And my mom, Jessica Halleman, for being a consistent supporter and source of love in my life. My little sister, Ella Halleman, for being my much-needed distraction at times. And a special thanks to my boyfriend, Fletcher Jones, for sharing my dedication and never letting me give up.”
