From now until June 15, 2026, anyone who rents the event space for a 2026 event will not pay the typical room fee. Owner Lauren Pattan hopes this deal allows more people to utilize the space.

“I think people who like the general vibe of our restaurant will enjoy the vibe of the space as well. We’ve worked a lot over the past few years to really enhance the space,” she explained. “I’m hoping it’ll make the space a little bit more accessible for people. Everything’s really expensive, so we’re happy to be able to get people at least a little bit of a discount wherever we can. Hopefully we’ll get some more people in the space.”

Pattan noted that the event room is used for a variety of public and private events, from The Old Bakery Beer Company’s vendor markets to Hayner Public Library District’s book club. But they also host weddings, receptions, parties and more. She said the space is intimate but perfect for events with up to 100 guests.

Over the past few years, they’ve added to the space to “give it a nice vibe,” with plants, murals, string lights and more. Pattan believes the room strikes a balance between “interesting enough” to not necessarily need additional decorations but “neutral enough” to be transformed into whatever you’d like.

All of the catering is done in-house, and Pattan noted that their hours are flexible. They can open early for corporate events/meetings or stay later for after-hours parties. The space also has a bar, so people can enjoy the restaurant’s beers or create a signature cocktail.

Whether you rent the space or not, The Old Bakery Beer Company still has plenty to offer to the Riverbend community and local diners. They just unveiled their summer menu, with “fan-favorite appetizers” like bang bang shrimp and street corn dip, and their cocktail menu has been refreshed with “some great summer flavors.” Pattan is especially excited to share their seasonal citrus wheat lime beer.

“I think summer is one of our best menus,” she said. “Those are things that I think people really look forward to over the summer.”

The space also hosts several events, with the Pride Market coming up quickly on June 13. From 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., shoppers can browse wares from local LGBTQ+ and ally artisans.

In the month of June, you can round up at the register to support Alton Pride, and all beer proceeds on their monthly “Drink for a Cause” night on June 18 will support Alton Pride as well. July’s charity of choice is Hope Animal Rescues.

In the next week, The Old Bakery Beer Company will also begin selling tickets to their fireworks viewing party on July 3. A ticket allows you to park in their parking lot and watch the fireworks from this prime spot on the river.

More information about all of these events and promotions can be found on the official The Old Bakery Beer Company website. For more information about the deal on the event space, click here.

“There’s always something going on,” Pattan laughed.
