During the Board’s regular meeting on Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Board approved several items, including the 2026–2027 Bethalto Employee Handbook and student handbooks for Trimpe Middle School, Civic Memorial High School, and pre-k–5 students. They also unanimously approved the Consolidated District Plan, a strategic plan required by the Illinois State Board of Education.
“It’s just a comprehensive plan so that we can write grants and submit grants,” explained Superintendent Dr. Jill Griffin. “Every year, we look at ways that all of the funds that we receive through the grant process can be used to support students.”
Submitted annually, the Consolidated District Plan allows the school district to apply for state and federal grants. Griffin noted that the money that Bethalto receives goes back into the district to provide programs and learning experiences for students.
As the meeting came to a close, Board member Dallas Zimmerman thanked the district and the community for the chance to serve on the Board of Education. He noted that four of the seven members are now finishing their first year on the Board, and he expressed his hopes that the Board will continue to learn and help the district be the best it can be.
