
BETHALTO – As expected, Civic Memorial’s Max Weber came through in the Triad 2A Boys Track and Field Sectional on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, with two first places in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.
Weber blazed to a first-place time of 4:16.93 in the 1,600 meters and first in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9:06.65.

Weber was a triple winner as the 4 x 400 relay also captured the top position.
CM’s Jacob Cranford also qualified in the 3,200 with a sixth-place time of 9:51.96.
Weber was also a member of the first-place 4 x 400 relay with Ty Brooks, Glenn Collins, and Tullio Zampieri, who qualified for state with a time of 3:24.70.
The CM 4 x 800 relay placed fourth (8:22.61). Kearbey, Cranford, Duffy, and Martin were members of that relay.
