The day will begin with a parade at 9 a.m. Monday on West Prairie Street next to Wells Norris in Jerseyville.

The Jerseyville Memorial Day Parade will proceed north on State Street, then east on Pearl Street, and continue east to Oak Grove Cemetery, a route listed as approximately 1.1 miles. The ceremony will begin after attendees settle in at the cemetery.

“You may want to bring your lawn chairs. In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the American Legion Post 492 and will be held outside under the big pavilion,” Gregory S. Breden of the Veterans Assistance Commission said.

If the ceremony is moved to the pavilion, it will begin at 9:30 a.m., Breden said.
