ROXANA - Roxana dominated the Cahokia Conference Meet Mississippi Division on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, accumulating 157 points to Freeburg's 147 points at Roxana High School.
It had been 57 years since the Shells' last conference title in boys track and field. The Shells were members of the Midwest Conference the last time they won it, Athletic Director Mark Briggs said on Wednesday.

Salem was third with 112 points, Columbia fourth with 66 points, Breese Central with 61 points and East Alton-Wood River tallied 12 points.
The Roxana boys track and field team members of Midwest Members Credit Union Male Athletes of the Month for the Shells.

Mekhi Shorter won the 100 meters (11.53) with Jamir Cornell second (11.54).
Cornell was third in the 100 meters (23.48) with Shorter fourth (23.75). Shorter won the long jump (6.17 meters) and Levi Meadows was second (5.99 meters).
Crishaun Sewell was third in the triple jump (12.46 meters).
Cornell blazed home in first with a time of 50.33 in the 400 meters; Peyton Pride was fourth (55.54).
Anthony Hardin of the Shells was third in the 800 meters (1:59.88).
Rylan Bisby was second in the 1,600 meters (4:46.19); Hardin was fourth (4:46.74).
Noah Crump was second in the 3,200 meters (10:35.27) and Joshua Ervin was fourth (11:10.47).
Matthew McGee was fourth in the 110 high hurdles (17.32).
McGee was second in the 300 hurdles (43.33).
Roxana won the 4 x 100 relay (44.11), was second in the 4 x 200 relay (1:34.99), third in the 4 x 400 relay (3:34.10), and second in the 4 x 800 relay (8:49.42).
The 4 x 100 relay consisted of Meadows, Shorter, Stevens and Cornell.
Zane Losch was fifth in the shot put (13.22 meters) and second in the discus (47.69 meters).
Matthew McGee was fifth in the high jump (1.65 meters).
Easton Johnston was fifth in the pole vault (2.89 meters).
Roxana competes in the Triad 2A Sectional starting at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
