
GLEN CARBON - Marquette Catholic's girls track and field squad tallied 98 points and placed third in the recent Gateway Conference Meet. The girls are now primed for the IHSA Sectional Meet at Springfield Southeast on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
The Marquette Catholic track and field girls are Tucker's Automotive Repair & Tire Female Athletes of the Month.

Eliza Boatman was a star of the day for the Explorers with a first place in the 100-meter hurdles (17.16), the 300 hurdles (50.90), and the long jump (4.67 meters).
Karly Davenport was also a standout. Davenport pushed the team to a solid start in the conference meet with a second-place time of 13.28. Davenport also won the triple jump (9.99 meters). Teammate Lilly Hannigan was second in the 200 (27.75). Karly's sister, Ari, placed second in the high jump (1.41 meters).
Caroline Cardinal was fourth in the 800 meters (2:44.82).
Isabel Downey was sixth in the 1,600 meters (7:32.08).
Jami Jones was second in the shot put (9.63 meters). Jones was fifth in the discus (20.25 meters).
Marquette was third in the 4 x 100 relay (53.84), third in the 4 x 200 relay (2:00.72), and third in the 4 x 800 relay (12:12.49).
