For her accomplishments, McKayla Fisher is a Student of the Month for Southwestern High School.
Fisher, a junior, has participated in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization since her freshman year. She was recently elected as the chapter president, a role she will serve in next year.
Through FFA, she has been named the section/chapter winner in Agricultural Communications. She is the first FFA in the USA Reporter from Section 15, which she described as “a great honor.”
Fisher works on the yearbook staff and enjoys taking pictures in her free time. She has spent four years as a cheerleader, including her time in middle school, and is thankful for her time with the sport.
Outside of school, she regularly volunteers at a local nursing home. She loves fishing, camping, riding side-by-sides and spending time with her loved ones. She also “genuinely enjoy[s]” public speaking and takes every opportunity to do so.
Fisher is open about her experience with scoliosis, which has inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare. She knows exactly what she wants to do after high school, and her teachers and loved ones will be cheering her on.
“I plan to attend the University of Arkansas to major in nursing,” she shared. “I hope to become a pediatric nurse because I enjoy working with children and want to help them feel safe and cared for during medical treatment.”
Congratulations to McKayla for this recognition from Southwestern High School!
