
MARYVILLE - Marquette Catholic’s bats erupted early and often Monday, scoring nine runs in the first inning on the way to a 24-4 girls softball win over Maryville Christian in a Gateway Metro Conference softball game at Maryville.

Marquette added one run in the second inning, six in the third, two in the fourth, and six more in the fifth to complete the rout.
Nylah McDonald had four hits and three RBIs for the Explorers. Jayla Dickson and Sofia Lamere each finished with four hits and two RBIs. Kenna Lievers struck out five in the circle.
With the win, Marquette improved to 7-10-1. Maryville Christian fell to 2-11.
Marquette will host Christ Our Rock Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, then travel to Hisslboro for a 4:30 p.m. game Thursday, May 14, 2026, and visit Civic Memorial for a 10 a.m. matchup Saturday, May 16, 2026.
