
GLEN CARBON - Jack Beaber once again was the star of the show for Marquette Catholic's boys track and field team in the Gateway Conference Meet on Wednesday at Father McGivney Catholic High School, grabbing first places in both the shot put (15.90 meters) and the discus (55.59 meters).
Beaber has his eyes set on another state track and field bid with sectional competition coming up in two weeks, then the state championship.

Marquette Catholic placed fourth in the Gateway Conference boys division and third in the girls competition on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Father McGivney Catholic Track.
Grady Dierking, only a sophomore, was third in the discus (42.34 meters) and C.J. Steib of the Explorers was third in the shot put (12.52 meters). Marquette head boys track coach Billy Sprague said Beaver is having. a strong positive influence on the Explorers' shot put and discus throwers.
Explorers' senior Elijah Heru had a fantastic meet, winning the high jump (1.71 meters). Marquette's Elias Aderibigbe was third in the long jump (6.14 meters).

In the 100 meters, Cameron Golike of Marquette Catholic was fifth (11.92). He placed sixth in the 200 meters (24.61).
Braden Nash was sixth in the 400 meters (58.78) for Marquette. Freshman Carson Klasner was eighth in the 800 (2:16.87).
Christian Johnson was fifth for Marquette in the 110 high hurdles (19.76) and fourth in the 300 hurdles (53.92).
Marquette was second in the 4 x 100 relay with McLeod, Golike, Heru and Croft members (46.07).
Marquette was third in the 4 x 200 relay (1:41.17) and third in the 4 x 800 relay (9:55.87) with Klasner, Elliot, Gieghorn and Morrisey.
