For her hard work, Marlee Durbin is a DD Homes Network Student of the Month for Civic Memorial High School.

Durbin, a senior, has played basketball since her freshman year and also spent a year on the volleyball team. It takes a lot of responsibility to balance sports and school, but Durbin does this gracefully.

She has received a lot of recognition through her basketball career. She is a member of the 1,000 Point Club and has been named an Athlete of the Month multiple times. She has also been named to multiple All-Tournament teams.

Durbin is also a member of the Spanish Club, the National Honor Society, and the mathematics honor society Mu Alpha Theta. Some of these organizations require high grades and many hours of community service.

She regularly volunteers with the school blood drive and the annual Miles for Meso 5K race in Alton. She also helps with the school’s basketball team camps and training sessions.

Durbin has maintained her status on the high honor roll throughout high school. She was named an Illinois State Scholar and Silver Medallion recipient, which puts her at the top of her class.

In her limited free time, Durbin enjoys being outside with her friends. She is excited to graduate in a few days and noted that she has received a scholarship. Her teachers and loved ones can’t wait to see what she does next.

“I plan on going to the University of Missouri to study accounting,” she shared.

Congratulations to Marlee for this recognition by Civic Memorial High School and the DD Homes Network!
