On April 18 and 28, 2026, Tanner allegedly knowingly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature against two household or family members in separate incidents. Charging documents note Tanner had previously been convicted of domestic battery on four prior occasions, including a 2024 conviction in Madison County and three prior Macoupin County convictions from 2014, 2017, and 2019.

The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to deny Tanner’s pretrial release from custody in this case. According to the petition, Tanner was “involved in domestic incidents twice in a period of 10 days, involving two different victims,” his latest in a “lengthy history of domestic battery.”

The Alton Police Department presented the latest case against Tanner, who currently remains in custody at the Madison County Jail.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
