School Nurses Day is always celebrated on the first Wednesday of May.

Newell said Whitman’s work ranges from “a band-aid” to “a listening ear,” and says she helps people through tough days. He adds that she “goes above and beyond to keep our Eagle Nation healthy and strong.”

The principal also credited Whitman’s “dedication, kindness, and calm presence,” saying her impact “often goes unseen — but never unappreciated.” He called her “the heartbeat of our building” and “a shining example of what it means to be all in for our students.”
