The park announced the policy on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, saying, “To help ensure our guests have a fun, safe experience at the park, a Chaperone Policy will be reactivated, effective daily, starting May 2, 2026.”

The move follows an incident on the park’s 2026 opening day, Saturday, April 25, 2026, when local authorities reported a chaotic scene involving around 100 people in a fight. Eureka police officers responded quickly and dispersed the crowd before park officials decided to close early.

Authorities said no injuries occurred and there was no damage to park property.

Under the reactivated policy, all guests 16 or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 to be admitted to or remain in the park. The policy will be in effect daily during all operating hours.

The park said the chaperone must present a valid government-issued photo identification with date of birth at ticket entry, and one chaperone may accompany no more than six guests 16 or younger per day. Guests 16 or younger found inside the park without a chaperone “will be subject to ejection,” according to the park’s policy statement.

The park said the chaperone must accompany the group during entry, remain in the park for the duration of the visit, and be available by phone and in person.

Guests 17 or older “should be prepared to present a valid government-issued photo identification” with date of birth at entry to verify age, the park said, adding that if a guest is unable to verify proof of age, the guest may be denied entry.

Six Flags St. Louis is one of seven properties recently sold by the main Six Flags company to a new owner, Enchanted Parks.
