Monday morning is starting loud in the Riverbend, with thunderstorms already moving through and temperatures near 61 degrees. A few storms could turn severe through the day, with damaging wind gusts, hail and even an isolated tornado possible. South-southeast winds will stay active at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 36 mph. It feels like 57 early this morning.

By afternoon, the strongest storms may become more scattered, but the chance of rain stays high and the temperature climbs to a high near 80. Skies will stay mostly cloudy and the air will feel warm and humid between rounds of storms.

During the evening, another strong thunderstorm is possible before conditions begin to settle down. Rain chances remain in place into the first part of the night, and a few downpours could lead to localized flooding.

Overnight, skies gradually turn clearer and cooler as storms move out. Winds ease back, and temperatures fall to a low around 52 by early Tuesday.

The allergy index is led by tree pollen, which is very high today. Grass, mold and ragweed levels are low.

Tuesday brings a cooler, quieter break with a high near 66 and a low around 49. Expect a mix of sun and clouds during the day, then a couple of showers could return Tuesday evening.
