MARINE, Ill. – Felony charges have been filed against an Alton woman accused of invading a residence in Marine while armed with a BB gun before kicking and spitting on a responding officer and EMT.

Kelsey L. Graham, 35, of Alton, was charged on April 20, 2026 with a Class X felony count of home invasion, two Class 2 felony counts of aggravated battery, and a Class 4 felony count of criminal trespass to a residence.
Graham allegedly knowingly entered an occupied Madison residence without authority while armed with a BB gun and threatened the use of force against one of the home’s occupants on April 18, 2026.
She is additionally accused of spitting on a Madison County Sheriff’s deputy and kicking an emergency medical technician (EMT) in the leg on the same date.
The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to deny Graham’s pretrial release from custody. According to the petition, one victim reported Graham had illegally entered his home while armed with what appeared to be a firearm. When another witness told Graham to leave, she reportedly displayed the weapon “in a threatening manner” before each of the home’s occupants fled and called police.
When officers entered the home, the petition states Graham refused to comply with lawful orders and continued brandishing the gun. She eventually dropped the weapon after officers used pepper balls and a K9, when it was determined to be a BB gun. Graham then continued to be combative as she was detained, spitting on officers and kicking an EMT, according to the petition.
The state’s petition was later upheld, with a Detention Order filed in this case adding the BB gun “appeared to be an operable firearm until [Graham] was taken into custody by way of use of pepper balls and a canine.”
Graham currently remains in custody in the Madison County Jail pending trial in the case presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
