GODFREY — Emergency crews responded to a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle Monday night in the 5600 block of Humbert Road.

The Godfrey Fire Department, along with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, were dispatched just after 8:30 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, firefighters located the injured pedestrian and quickly determined the severity of the injuries required advanced care. An Arch medical helicopter was requested to the scene.

Alton Memorial Ambulance transported the victim to a landing zone in a nearby field off Tolle Lane, where the helicopter was waiting.

The victim was then airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis. No additional information has been released at this time regarding the victim’s condition or the circumstances surrounding the crash.
