At their March 24, 2026 meeting, village trustees unanimously approved the site plan for a new gas station and convenience store set to be built on approximately 2.39 acres in Meridian Plaza. The site’s exact location is listed as 82 Magnolia Drive, just off Illinois 157.
The site plan developed by Thouvenot, Wade & Moerchen Inc. (TWM) shows a 6,367 square foot building with 40 parking spaces, including 2 ADA-accessible parking spaces and six fuel pumps with an overhead canopy. The site will also feature a greenspace area with various trees and a dog park made of artificial turf.
Community Development Director Erika Heil said the operators of the gas station and convenience store will be seeking a package liquor license from the village in the near future.
In other business, trustees also approved an amendment to the site plan for Outparcel 13 in Orchard Town Center. The approved changes include the removal of six parking spaces on the outer edge of the Dick’s Sporting Goods parking lot near TSG drive to install an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM).
Heil said the ITM will be operated by Royal Banks, who will also operate out of one of the outbuildings within Orchard Town Center. The ITM will feature a “horseshoe” style drive-thru design to prevent traffic buildups.
Both items were approved unanimously, allowing the plans for both sites to move forward.
