Dively said the homeowner called quickly, allowing crews to stop the fire before it spread through the entire garage.

“It apears someone was burning debris in the yard and the fire made it to the eaves of the garage,” Dively said. “The homeowner called us quickly and we were able to get a stop on the fire before it spread to the whole garage.”

A box alarm was requested, and East Alton, Wood River and Rosewood Heights responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported.
