From 1–5 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, community members can stop by The Old Bakery Beer Company for a day of small bites, live music, and over 50 drink samples. The event aims to bring awareness to the Sierra Club’s work while reminding people about the importance of supporting insect pollinators.
“Nothing makes people understand the importance like thinking that their beer might be affected,” joked Lauren Pattan with OBB.
The Buzz’d Beer Festival is “a beer festival with a little bit of a twist,” Pattan explained. Every beverage relies on insect pollinators for its ingredients. The goal is to encourage attendees to grow native plants and do other things that support insect pollinators and the Sierra Club.
Ticket prices cost $35 and include a commemorative glass and unlimited samples. Designated drivers can pay $10 for access to the festival and four nonalcoholic samples. Tickets can be bought online.
“Just remember that part of the ticket sale goes to support your local Sierra Club organization and their projects that they do around town,” Pattan said. “It’s a great cause.”
OBB will offer a special food menu that day, including favorites like bang bang shrimp, pulled pork, street corn dip and more. The band Hideous Gentlemen, of which one of OBB’s bartenders is a member, will play throughout the event.
The event also serves as a way to celebrate OBB’s 11th anniversary in the Alton community. Pattan noted that the years have flown by, and they look forward to a “full-scale celebration” on Sunday.
OBB will host a few additional events in the next month, including their monthly Drink for a Cause night planned for Thursday, March 19, where they donate 25% of beer and tea sales to a local nonprofit. This month’s recipient is the National Great Rivers Education Center. Pattan shared that you can always donate at the register, but Drink for a Cause Night is a great opportunity to support a local organization every month.
On April 11, the business will celebrate Riverbend Earth Day, which is OBB’s “biggest market-style event of the year.” Attendees can shop local earth-friendly vendors, enjoy live music, and check out the popular plant sale.

Just hang out with us all day. Enjoy the music. Enjoy the food while you’re down there. Sample responsibly,” she added. “It’s a great way to enjoy the afternoon.”
