On Tuesday, March 10, a series of severe storms swept through Illinois – bringing five confirmed tornadoes and record-setting hail, with major impacts in Kankakee and Aroma Park. These storms resulted in a number of minor injuries and damages to at least 300 properties, including over 30 that were destroyed.

In the immediate aftermath, Governor Pritzker directed state agencies to provide the State of Illinois’ full support and resources in all response and recovery efforts. That included deploying Illinois State Police, IEMA officials, and Illinois Department of Transportation personnel to coordinate with local leaders. Key response activities include mutual aid support, debris management, and volunteer and non-profit assistance.
