ALTON - Alton’s Semaj Stampley set a new all-time scoring record for the Rebirds boys basketball program on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, reaching the milestone during a 75-39 loss to Vashon at the O’Fallon Shootout.

Stampley surpassed Kavon Lacey, who had held the program record since the 2006-07 season.

Stampley scored nine points in the loss to Vashon as he established the new benchmark.

The previous record dated back to 2007, when Devon Lacey scored 1,499 points to surpass Kevin Caldwell’s previous record of 1,489 points.

Stampley reached the new high mark in three seasons with the Redbirds.
