ALTON - Duke Bakery will introduce a mobile food trailer for parties and events.

Starting in June 2026, the bakery will have a trailer that can travel to homes and event venues so you can enjoy your Duke Bakery favorites during special occasions. Ben Hollis, co-owner of Duke, shared that the trailer will travel to communities throughout the Riverbend to bring treats to people near and far.

“We’re hoping to have that on the road by the first of June this year,” he said. “I think it’s a way to not only reach out to the community here for events, but other communities in the surrounding area, whether it’s Edwardsville or Granite City or wherever. We’ll also have it available to rent for private parties, whether it’s a wedding reception or a kid’s birthday party. You want us to come to your house and do cupcakes or cookies, what have you. We’re going to have a variety of things that we’re going to do with it.”

Hollis shared that this is a big year for Duke Bakery. The bakery will mark its 75th anniversary at its spot in Alton and its 20th anniversary in Granite City.

As part of this, they have teamed up with Great Rivers and Routes Tourism Bureau to plan celebrations that also honor the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and the 250th anniversary of the United States. Hollis promises more information about all of this will be available soon on Duke Bakery’s official Facebook page.

He shared that the mobile food trailer has been in the works for several months now. Plans for the trailer took a backseat when Duke decided to relaunch their soda brand in honor of their 75th anniversary. But as Duke Beverages have taken off, Hollis is excited to return to his plans for the trailer.

“Keep your eye on the social media,” he added. “We have a lot of things happening.”
