ALTON — The International House of Pancakes (IHOP) restaurant located at 181 Homer M. Adams Parkway in Alton will close permanently after Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026. The announcement was posted on the restaurant’s front door on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, informing customers of the upcoming closure.

The notice expressed gratitude to patrons, stating, “We are very sad to announce that Alton IHOP’s last day would be Jan. 25, 2026. Thank you for your support so far!”

Leading up to the closure, a sign on the doorway says the restaurant’s hours will be adjusted to 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

IHOP has been known for serving fresh pancakes, omelettes, eggs, crepes, and other breakfast items. Customers seeking a similar dining option can visit the IHOP location in Glen Carbon at 4233 South Illinois Route 159 after Jan. 25, 2026.

No further details regarding the reason for the Alton IHOP closure have been released at this time.
