turday\, September 12th! This exciting triathlon event features a 500m
swim\, 20k bike\, and 5k run. Come test your skills and enjoy the bea
utiful scenery of Southern Illinois!\n\nThe History of the CiderMan Sp
rint Triathlon\nFall is a time for changing leaves\, fuzzy sweaters\, 
and crisp apples! We are Buttercup Ranch & Creamery and are all about 
learning and teaching people to do things for themselves\, especially 
natural\, healthy eating.\n\nFor years we have gotten together with fa
mily and friends to play games\, visit\, and make homemade fresh apple
cider. Everyone brings apples\, gets a turn cranking the cider press\
, and out comes yummy liquid gold. So in remembrance of this time-hono
red family event\, we call our triathlon the CiderMan Sprint Triathlon
.\n\n20% of proceeds go to local first responders.\nBecause the first 
CiderMan Sprint Triathlon was held on the 20th anniversary of 9-11\, w
e hold it in honor of the captain of Flight 11\, John Ogonowski. Rich\
, one of our owners\, worked with John&rsquo\;s brother\, Jim. We give
20% of our proceeds to our local first responders (10% to police\, 10
% to fire department).\n\nWe offer lots of options!\nChoose between sp
rint triathlon (individual or relay)\, swim or paddle (bring your own 
vessel)\, aquabike\, duathlon\, or individual 5k run or 20k bike\, eve
n a Fun Run/Walk!\n\nEarly packet pickup is on September 11th from 4 &
